With Kotone Furukawa, Ayumu Nakajima, Hyunri, Kiyohiko Shibukawa, Katsuki Mori, Shouma Kai, Fusako Urabe, Aoba Kawai. Acclaimed director Ryūsuke Hamaguchi (Drive My Car, Asako I & II) returns with an enchanting triptych of stories of chance and imagination, spinning mundane encounters into a world of infinite possibilities. In the first, a young woman is startled when she realizes that her best friend’s new flame might be her ex; in the second, a disgruntled student plots an elaborate revenge on his college professor; and in the final story, a girl’s college reunion leads to an unanticipated run-in that awakens long dormant feelings. Bound together by memory, regret, deception, and fate, Hamaguchi’s film charts the ever-deepening mysteries of the human heart. A Film Movement release.
